Progressive upgrade to MySQL 8
Update
1 min read
Until now all our services ran MySQL 5.7 as the database engine, a highly stable and secure version that also delivers excellent performance.
MySQL 5.7 has official support until October 2023. However, more and more applications need MySQL 8 to make the most of all their features (there were no releases between 5.7 and 8.0), such as Nextcloud.
For that reason, and after extensive testing, we are progressively upgrading our infrastructure to MySQL 8. We expect all our systems to be running this version within 10 days.
Although we don't expect compatibility issues with apps and websites already running, if you notice anything not working as it should, don't hesitate to contact us.
