WordPress maintenance, no small print.
What exactly do you update?
WordPress, all plugins, the theme and the translations. Whatever your website has pending at each review. If you ask us not to touch a plugin, we don't, and we remind you in the report when it has a new version.
What if an update breaks my website?
Before touching anything we create a restore point with your website's database and code. After updating we check it the way a visitor would see it. If something fails and can't be fixed there and then, we put it back to how it was and tell you what happened.
What about paid plugins?
A paid plugin or theme only updates with an active licence: without it, its author doesn't provide the new version. You can store the licence with us in your client area, encrypted. If one expires, we leave it as it is and let you know so you can renew it.
Why does a shop cost the same?
Because the work is the same. With a shop we take one extra precaution: a major version of WooCommerce, or of a plugin that changes the database, waits for your go-ahead, and if we need to roll back no orders are lost.
When do you work on my website?
In the time slot you choose, overnight by default, when your website has the fewest visitors. Security updates don't wait for the next review: they're applied in your time slot as soon as they're out.
My website hasn't been updated in years. Can you help?
First it goes through the update: we bring it to the current version on a copy, without touching your website, and tell you what can be done. From then on, maintenance keeps it up to date.
Do I need to host with you?
Yes: maintenance works inside your hosting. If your website is somewhere else, we move it for free when you order any plan.
Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes. You cancel it from the client area and it continues until your hosting's next renewal. There's no minimum term.
