Requirements

What FacturaScripts needs is already there.

The official requirements of FacturaScripts and its Verifactu plugin, one by one, against what every Hostsuar hosting plan includes.
  • PHP 8.1 or later · 8.3 recommended From 5.4 to 8.5, and you choose the version for each domain from the panel.
  • Extensions bcmath, curl, fileinfo, gd, mbstring, openssl, simplexml, zip All available in the PHP selector in your cPanel.
  • Verifactu soap extension · PHP 8.1 or later Enabled with one click in the same selector.
  • Database MySQL 8 or MariaDB 11.2 MySQL 8, with as many databases as your plan allows.
  • Web server Apache with mod_rewrite LiteSpeed, which reads .htaccess rules just like Apache.

Verifactu

The official plugin, free.

FacturaScripts adds Verifactu with its own plugin: it generates each record, signs it and sends it to the Spanish Tax Agency from your installation, with no third parties involved.

Records, signs and submits every invoice

It calculates the hash and signature of each record, prints the QR code on the invoice and sends it to the AEAT from a queue, with a test mode to get started. It handles corrections and cancellations, and works with several companies in the same installation.

The dates

When you need it up and running

The Spanish Tax Agency has postponed Verifactu to October 2028, so it arrives at the same time as mandatory e-invoicing. Before that, the dates were 1 January 2027 for companies and 1 July 2027 for everyone else. There's time, but the plugin already works and its test mode lets you start without rushing.

The cron

One task every minute, and the queue empties itself

The plugin submits from a queue and FacturaScripts needs a cron every 60 seconds to process it. In cPanel it's one line; what you can't do is rely on someone having the program open.

  1. 01

    Set up PHP

    In the PHP selector, choose 8.3 for the domain and enable soap.

  2. 02

    Create the database

    With the MySQL wizard: a dedicated database and a user just for it.

  3. 03

    Upload FacturaScripts

    Download the stable version from facturascripts.com and extract it into the domain with the file manager.

  4. 04

    Open the installer

    Visit your domain, connect the database and create the admin user. Then install the Verifactu plugin from its plugin list.

  5. 05

    Schedule the cron

    In Cron Jobs, one task every minute:

    Replace user and the folder with your account's.

Does FacturaScripts comply with Verifactu?

FacturaScripts has an official Verifactu plugin that works in Veri*Factu mode: it generates invoicing records with their hash and signature, adds the QR code to invoices and sends them to the Spanish Tax Agency. Its author issues the statement of compliance the regulation requires, and you download it from Administrador › Acerca de. If you resell FacturaScripts to third parties, you have to make the statement yourself.

How much does it cost?

FacturaScripts is free software and the Verifactu plugin is free. Some specific plugins are paid. All you need is the hosting, and for a business doing its own invoicing the smallest plan already meets every requirement.

When is Verifactu mandatory?

In October 2028. The Tax Agency has postponed it to coincide with mandatory e-invoicing; before that, Royal Decree-law 15/2025 set 1 January 2027 for those paying Corporation Tax and 1 July 2027 for the self-employed and everyone else. Nothing stops you starting earlier: the plugin has a test mode. Check your case with your accountant.

Do I need a digital certificate?

Yes, to sign and send the records to the AEAT. The plugin accepts certificates in .pfx format, including FNMT ones, and you upload it from its settings without the password being shown.

What if I'm in the Basque Country or on the SII?

Verifactu doesn't apply to those who already keep their books through Immediate Supply of Information (SII), or in the foral territories, which have their own system, such as TicketBAI in the Basque Country. FacturaScripts works just the same on your hosting, but the Verifactu plugin isn't the one you need.

Why on hosting and not on the office computer?

Because that way you can open it from anywhere, the cron runs even when nobody has the computer switched on, and your data has backups off the server. FacturaScripts is used from the browser, so on hosting it works just as it does locally, with HTTPS.
