It's standard email over IMAP and SMTP with an encrypted connection, so it works in Mail on iPhone and Mac, on Android, in Outlook, in Thunderbird and in the Gmail app. You also get webmail to read it from any browser, and from your client area you can open each mailbox's webmail without typing the password.
