SeedDMS is an open source document management system for organising, sharing and storing all kinds of files in teams or businesses. It runs on PHP and databases such as MySQL or sqlite3, so you can install it on most web servers.

Its interface is similar to a file explorer: you can create folders, upload documents and keep several versions of each file, so you don't lose important changes. You can also add metadata (author, keywords, descriptions) and search for documents easily, even inside PDFs or Office files. SeedDMS also stands out for its permission management and its workflow system, useful for reviewing and approving documents before they are published.
