HTML Purifier is a PHP library that helps you clean and filter HTML code safely. Its main job is to remove any malicious code, such as potential XSS attacks, using a whitelist of allowed tags and attributes. That way, only safe, standard HTML is kept.

As well as protecting against threats, HTML Purifier ensures the resulting HTML is valid according to W3C specifications. It fixes incorrectly nested tags, validates attributes, cleans CSS, understands UTF-8 and can generate paragraphs automatically. It's object-oriented, extensible and covered by unit tests, so it's reliable for projects where security and HTML quality matter.
