Professional email without hosting: mailboxes on your domain from €2 a month

There is a question we get almost every week: "my website is on Wix (or Shopify, or I don't have a website yet), can I have just email on my domain?". Until now the honest answer was yes, but only by ordering hosting you would not use for anything else, or by settling for a forwarder to Gmail that does not let you reply from your own address. We did not like either option.

That is why we have launched professional email without hosting: mailboxes like hola@tuempresa.es on your phone, your computer and your browser, paying per mailbox and managing everything from the client area, without cPanel.

What's included

Each mailbox is a complete mailbox, with encrypted IMAP and SMTP to use it in Gmail, Outlook, iPhone Mail, Android or Thunderbird, and with webmail you open from the client area without typing the password.

Also:

• Unlimited forwarders and aliases, which do not count as mailboxes: facturas@ can go to the hola@ mailbox with a copy to your accountant.
• Antispam adjustable per mailbox: spam to a separate folder or straight out, with normal or strict level and your own list of blocked senders.
• Autoresponders with a start and end date, which reply at most once a day to each sender.
• And you decide what happens to email sent to addresses that do not exist: bounce it or collect it in a mailbox.

What it costs

€2 a month for the first mailbox and €1.50 for each additional one, plus VAT. Each mailbox comes with 5 GB. Three mailboxes, for example, cost €5 a month.

If one runs short, you can add space GB by GB, at €0.30 a month each, and it goes only to the mailbox that needs it: there is no need to upgrade every mailbox just because one stores lots of attachments. A mailbox can grow up to 100 GB.

You pay monthly or yearly and a month costs the same either way. With yearly billing you simply forget about monthly invoices; we did not want to inflate the monthly price to push you towards yearly.

Grow mid-month, paying only for the days

If someone joins the team mid-period, you add the mailbox and pay only for the days left until the renewal, which stays the same. One more mailbox eleven days before renewal costs €0.54.

The same goes for space, and you do it from the mailbox itself: in its menu, "Change the space". If the plan has free GB left, it applies straight away at no cost; if not, you buy only the GB you are missing, for the days left, and once paid the mailbox has its new size without you having to share anything out by hand.

You can also scale down: fewer mailboxes or less space applies at renewal, never below what you are using.

Your domain, wherever it is

You do not need to bring your domain to Hostsuar. What we do is check where it is and act accordingly, because a newly registered domain is not the same as one that already receives email somewhere else:

• If you register it with us when you order, everything works without touching anything.
• If it already uses our DNS, we set up the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC for you. If its email was going to another provider until now, we tell you before you order, because once activated it will start arriving here.
• If it is registered with us but its DNS is elsewhere (Cloudflare, for example), you can move it to our DNS with one click: before doing so we show you what we copy from your website so it keeps working. Or, if you prefer to stay there, we give you the exact records.
• If it is registered elsewhere, we tell you which records to add at your provider and check from the client area that they are correct.

Everything from the client area

You create a mailbox by typing its name. If you do not set a password, we generate a secure one and show it to you only once, along with the connection details for your phone and computer. In the "Mobile and computer" section you have the server, ports and username for each mailbox, with step-by-step guides for each app.

If someone in your company manages email but should not see the invoices, you can give them a sub-account with permission for email only, on one or all of your domains.

Email or hosting?

If your website is going to be with us, you do not need this: email is included in every hosting plan and you manage it from the same place. Email without hosting is for when the website is on another platform or there is no website yet.

And a word of warning we would rather make clear from the start: this is email for work, not for sending newsletters or bulk mailings. There are services designed for that, and mixing the two ends up hurting the delivery of your everyday email.
